Guitar Hero is a series of music video games first published in 2005 by Red Octane and distributed by Activision.

Basically you use guitar-shaped controllers to simulate the playing of lead, bass guitar and rhythm guitar across numerous rock music songs.

For those wondering, indeed you can use Guitar Hero Guitars with Rock Band, which I do all the time on my Xbox 360.

If you haven’t given the Guitar Hero or Rock Band series a try, you should. It’s ok to step away from Call Of Duty once in a while.

I pretty much own all the games in the Guitar Hero series to date (Van Halen coming soon) and also Rock Band.

A lot of my friends ask me which series that I prefer, Guitar Hero or Rock Band?

Spoiler alert: I like both. IMHO Guitar Hero has better graphics but Rock Band has a way better selection of downloadable music content.
